An orc sketch from the ol’ sketchbook from a few weeks ago… had to share! I just never stop sketching…

Okay, so I’ve been highly addicted to Battlestar Galactica and this past Friday’s episode was a doozy (no worries - no spoilers here!) and it got me thinking about meeting Katee Sackhoff at a convention last year (we were both guests among others, such as Jonathan Frakes) and what a complete sweetheart she was, and so opposite of her character in the show. At the dinner event, I actually sang (yes, I sing, my second love!) “Margaritaville” on stage (The dinner event was a luau theme, and what’s a luau theme without some Jimmy Buffet?), and she started cheering me on so I walked over to her and serenaded her a little, and even changed the words some “…Some people claim that there’s a cylon to blame, but I know… it’s all Katee’s fault.” haha … and after the show, she and I were chatting and I discovered SHE is quite the accomplished singer, and it’s her BIG love, and we just had a lot of fun talking about acting, BSG, cartooning, singing, etc. So, to celebrate that moment, and my complete love of Katee’s show, here’s a photo of her and I backstage. And heck, if ya’ want, I’ll post more of this kind of thing, as I’ve met about every Star Trek star out there, as well as many sci-fi stars, as I am a frequent invited guest of conventions and have photos of me with them, and lil’ stories to back ‘em up! One of my faves? Meeting Avery Brooks… what a class act.

And maybe I should post my convention schedule for this year as the season is upon me (I start my regular con rounds in July through the rest of the year!)
